Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Portrait

HRH Queen Elizabeth II granted portrait artist Basia Hamilton an exclusive sitting which took place at Windsor Castle on 6th May 2022.

This portrait is the final portrait Her Majesty sat for and is also the only portrait sitting she gave during 2022, her Platinum Jubilee year. HRH The Duke of Kent officially unveiled the portrait on 11th September 2023 at the Polish Institute and Sikorski Museum in London. The original hangs within the private apartments at Windsor Castle.

The limited edition giclee prints are available in three sizes: A1, A2 and A3. For each size a limited number of 1,000 were produced, all of which are hand-signed by the artist, numbered and supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity. Each print is produced to the highest quality, gallery/museum-standard, using a specialist art printing company.

A portion of the proceeds is being donated to The Portrait Foundation which was founded by the artist, with HRH The Duke of Kent as Patron.

Barbara Kaczmarowska-Hamilton, known as Basia Hamilton, was born in Sopot, Poland. She graduated from the Academy of Art in Gdansk and continued her studies at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice and Rome. Specialising in portraits in oil and pastels, Hamilton rose to international fame thanks to her great skill in the art of portraiture. Her sitters include His Holiness Pope John Paul II, HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, HRH The Princess Royal, HRH The Duke of Kent, HRH Prince Michael of Kent, HRH The Maharaja of Jodhpur and many others who all together constitute “The Hall of Fame” in her gallery. On Friday, 6th May 2022, Hamilton attended Windsor Castle where Queen Elizabeth II sat for an exclusive private portrait sitting. The portrait was completed in June 2022 in time for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
